Macbeth Noir Imagery Essay

Act 1 Scene 3, Page 61

All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis!

All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor!

All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be the king hereafter!

This picture was taken in Tokyo Disney Sea in the summer of 2018. The stair steps represents the steps to become the scottish king for Macbeth, and the fire represents the burden on the way to being the king.

Act 1 Scene 5 p81.

Lady Macbeth - Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here and fill me from the crown to the toe top-full of direst cruelty.

This picture was taken at Beijing China on October 1, 2016.

In the old Chinese days, women were supposed to be locked in home and be a full time housewife and should not talk back to their husband, in this picture, if we image Lady Macbeth is in there, we can then see her desire of wanting to go outside to see the world better, or in the play she had the desire of wanting to have to highest power.

Act 2 Scene 1, p 103

Macbeth - Is this a dagger which I see before me, The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee. I have thee not, and yet I see thee still Art thou not, fatal vision, sensible to feeling as to sight? Or art thou but A dagger of the mind, a false creation, Proceeding from the heat-oppressed brain?

This picture was taken at University of Tokyo on January of 2019.

Act 3, Scene 3 p 163.

Banquo - "O treachery! Fly, good Fleance; fly, fly, fly! Thou may'st revenge--O slave!"

This picture was taken at Diamond Head Memorial on April of 2017

I think that this picture represents the place where Banquo was killed and his son ran away.

Act 4 Scene 1. P189

This was the scene where Macbeth was in a cave with all witches.

This picture was taken at Tokyo Disney Sea on summer of 2018.

Act 5 Scene 1 p243

Lady Macbeth - Here's the smell of blood still. All the perfumes of Arbia will not sweeten this little hand Oh, oh, oh.

This picture was taken at Hawaiian Mission Academy Ka Lama Iki on the February of 2017.

Act 5, Scene 5 p 265.

Macbeth - Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow, creeps in this petty pace from day to day, To the last syllable of recording time, And all our yesterdays have lighted fools, The way to dusty death. Out out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player That struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more. it is a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

This picture was taken in a bus on the August of 2017.

I think the two seat in this picture represents the Scottish king Macbeth and his wife Lady Macbeth, but because of the fallen of Lady Macbeth first, then followed with the death of Macbeth, that's why the seat became empty.

Act 5 Scene 3, p 257.

Macbeth - I will not be afraid of death and bane till Birnam forest come to Dunsinane.

This picture was taken at Maui on the November of 2014

I think that this picture almost perfectly is the same as how Polanski's movie act 5 was, the forest were far and were gone at the beginning but then started to move forward, hiding the troops of Malcom.

Act 5 Scene 7 p 273

Siward - This way, my lord. The castle's gently' rendered, The tyrant's people on both sides do fight, the noble thanes do barely in the war, the day almost itself professes yours, and little is to do.

This picture was taken at Kona, Big Island on the November of 2014.

I think this picture represents the open castle of Macbeth and he was standing in the center to be ready to fight against Macduff/Malcolm's army.
